DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION
It is not known if the area immediately behind the Chapel of the Vote in the fifteenth century was decorated or not. It was definitely decorated only in the eighteenth century, but in Manira not very valuable. There are represented the personification of Religion, in a frame in the center at the entrance to the chapel and three theological virtues, in hexes at the sides and a central oval. The remaking of the figures on the same subject, which is currently visible, Charles Amidei and Matthew Pino in 1870. The new cartoon on which the inlays were provided by purist painter Alessandro Franchi. The Religion of wearing the habit of a priest and has its wings outstretched, holding the pastoral staff and the keys of the kingdom of heaven. It has the face veiled, signifying the divine inscrutability. The virtues represent Hope, Faith and Charity. The first, in particular, is sitting on a seat of Renaissance style on which rests an anchor and has inspired expression, but without forcing expression.
